Spiderman is my favorite superhero because he's so human: webslinger or not, he's just a clever nerd from Queens with a little bit of luck and a heavy dose of snark. Spandex suit or not, he still goes to school, pays bills, and treats his girlfriend well.
The Spiderman movies are the whole reason I got into the computer graphics industry. A sophomore in high school, I walked out of the theater saying, "That's going to be me in ten years."
"What," my mom said. "You're going to be a superhero?"
"Kind of." And ten years? I did it in five.
Suffice to say, when Sony announced they would have the cutest actors play my favorite superhero and his girlfriend, I was thrilled.
